Clough is pleased to announce the completion of the Main Roads Western Australia (Main Roads) Gudai-Darri Great Northern Highway Bridge Project, achieving zero harm.

This project, which was completed with joint venture partner, Acciona, is the nineth of Clough’s completed Zero Harm projects.

The Clough Acciona Joint Venture was awarded the contract in November 2019 for the construction of the road over rail bridge for Main Roads to accommodate the new Gudai-Darri rail line that intersects the Great Northern Highway in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The project team delivered two bulk earthwork bridge embankments, mechanically stabilised earth abutment walls, T-Roff beam installation for the bridge deck, and all associated drainage, pavement and road furniture.

Clough Head of HSSE, Roberta Selleck said: “I am so proud that once again Clough’s teams are proving zero harm is achievable in our industry. It takes an incredible level of dedication, commitment, collaboration and effort. This achievement is a testament to the entire project team. Zero Harm is no longer an aspiration, it is an expectation.”

Clough Executive Vice President, Australia & Asia Pacific, John Galvin, added: “This project team has not only achieved zero harm, they have made a positive impact in the community, employing and training locals, engaging with local contractors, and stimulating WA business with 95 per cent of the project spend made with local suppliers.”
