Clough is proud to announce that its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been endorsed by Reconciliation Australia. Clough has been active in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for many years and had in place many corporate programs and relationships which promoted and enhanced reconciliation. As a result of this Clough, with the agreement of Reconciliation Australia, developed an Innovate RAP rather than a Reflect RAP as is the standard approach for most companies.

CEO and Managing Director Peter Bennett said: “Our company vision for reconciliation is to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples by providing employment, education and business opportunities and to create a workplace that understands and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures”

John Galvin, Executive Vice President Australia and Asia Pacific commented: “For the past 10 months, we have been working towards implementing our first RAP, and I am very pleased to say that our submission has officially been endorsed. It has been a major undertaking to get us to this point, and it represents a significant milestone for our company. I look forward to achieving all that we have set out to do as we fulfil Clough’s commitment to reconciliation”

The Reconciliation Action Plan is a strategic document that provides a framework for the commitment Clough has made to create meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It outlines and supports Clough’s vision and contribution to reconciliation both internally in the business, and in the communities in which it operates. Clough’s motivation for diversity is to create a culture that embraces and encourages diversity as it remains one of Clough’s key principles. With broader diversity in our workforce, Clough will better reflect the talent available in the many communities in which it operates.

Whilst Clough has been working to create opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia for many years, it was recognised more could be done with a structured approach. Clough’s efforts to date provide a solid foundation on which we can build. Putting this framework in place builds and encourages Clough’s relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, by supporting opportunities to increase engagement throughout the community through recruitment, traineeships, our supplier network, and beyond.
