Meet Cathy McKay, Clough’s recently appointed Project Manager for the Lombrum Infrastructure Project.
A chemical engineer by profession, Cathy graduated from the University of Paisley in south-western Scotland, her home country, where she worked as an engineer before her talents took her abroad. Cathy is also a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE. CEng).
Over her career, Cathy has progressed through senior discipline and project engineering roles, onto program and project management roles in the engineering and construction industry across various markets, including power generation, petrochemical, and mining and minerals processing.
Cathy is passionate about coaching and mentoring others to help them identify their strengths and pursue roles that will help them fulfil their potential and recently completed the Executive Ready Program, delivered by Women and Leadership Australia.
“I am also passionate about diversity and inclusion, predominantly gender diversity and I have previously established Lean-in Circles to provide a space for women to share their challenges, expand their networks and help each other achieve their goals,” Cathy said.
John Galvin, Clough Executive Vice President APAC, said: “I am delighted to have Cathy leading our Lombrum team, where her extensive project expertise will enable the successful delivery of what is a diverse and challenging scope, in a remote location.”
Outside of work, Cathy is an avid traveller and enjoys training at the gym. “Deadlift day is my favourite day of the week. To balance that out I love finding new places to eat and drink around Brisbane and I’m excited to be able to make plans to holiday overseas again soon!”
