Senior Operations Support Manager

  • Outstanding, sustainable outcomes in HSE through visible felt leadership and significant personal contribution to HSE improvement strategy. 
  • Responsible for delivering a program of projects free from incidents, injuries and environmental harm by providing safety leadership, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the project HSE Management System.
  • Deliver on personal commitment to improve safety performance within Webuild/Clough via the development and evidence log of Personal Safety Action Plan 
  • Build capability of project delivery teams to effect sustainable improvement in HSE performance.
  • Be closely aligned with HSE functional leadership to create and deliver on annual program/project HSE Improvement plans 
  • Monitor the progress and performance of all functions areas of the Program Team.
  • Portfolio to achieve and exceed business targets.

    STRATEGY AND DEVELOPMENT

    • Create and retain strong relationships with key customers.
    • Develop business capability in line with company strategies and growth expectations.
    • Review and become familiar with the commercial terms and conditions, as well as all procedures required to win and deliver works 
    • Providing leadership in the collation of tenders and bid estimates
    • Be thorough in estimate and tender reviews to ensure intended targets can be achieved

    PROJECT DELIVERY

    • Develop a sector strategy with respect to the use of resources, joint venture participants, consultants, subcontractors and client resources for scope of work.
    • Prepare a project budget based on the project estimate and institute a cost control system, including responsibility for cash flow and profitability of the project
    • Ensure a project schedule is developed that coordinates all activities and resources required to complete the contract.
    • Monitoring and engagement of project team to ensure high level communication and performance to achieve success    
    • Monitor all changes to the project scope of work and ensure Management of Change process is utilised and contractual obligations adhered to 
    • Provide strategic and proactive resolutions to issues identified relating to all facets of Project delivery    
    • Take corrective action in the event of actual or potential quality problems, delays or financial losses.
    • Participate in lessons learnt and prepare a close out report on project successes and challenges prior to the conclusion of the Project.
    • Provide leadership to the project execution team to ensure the success delivery of the project.
    • OPERATIONAL DELIVERY

      • Lead the contract management and commercial execution of all projects within the sector, ensuring all risks are mitigated and deliverables achieved.
      • Ensure delivery of projects to agreed standards for time, cost and quality.
      • Manage the relationship with clients to achieve mutually satisfactory project outcomes including financial and commercial aspects.
      • Lead project improvement activities and develop and deliver innovative solutions which drive client and internal cost savings and improved efficiencies.
      • Meet all operational legal compliance requirements and ensure compliance with functional requirements and associated policies, processes, and procedures.

      FINANCIAL

      • Achievement of core finance targets across program – Revenue, Profit, Working Capital, Forecast Accuracy
      • Be a leader in Opportunity & Risk management
      • Raise capability of Project Managers to deliver their own P&L’s.
      Identify and Implement initiatives to maximize EBIT potential within the program and broader business
      • Drive high performance culture within the team.
      • Manage performance of staff to meet and exceed performance expectations.
      • Work with the COO to optimize performance of the portfolio.
      • Provide leadership and direction to team members assisting with coaching, mentoring and performance development. 
      • Ensure all team members are fully informed of all relevant divisional activities and foster a strong culture of openness, responsiveness, honesty and accountability throughout the organisation.
      • Engage with operational and functional peers to build harmonious working relationships and share knowledge to improve business outcomes
