Clough is pleased to announce that our CEO and Managing Director, Peter Bennett, has accepted a role as a Chair of CEOs for Gender Equity (CGE).

Established in 2014, CGE’s purpose is to influence and inspire leaders of businesses to be forces for change in the workplace, through removing systemic barriers that hinder gender balance. Peter Bennett joins a cast of over 50 CEOs from corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors aligned in their goal of creating a more equitable workplace for all.

Tania Cecconi, CEOs for Gender Equity Executive Officer, said: “I am also delighted to welcome Peter Bennett, Clough MD and CEO, as the new Chair of CGE. As a champion for inclusion and diversity, Peter recognises the role of leading a commitment to gender balance from the top; and how more leaders in WA could also make gender balance a priority especially in construction and mining. He brings deep WA, national and global networks to the role.”

Peter Bennett said: “Diversity is an investment in the future of our industry, and we must engage today to create the environment and culture for diversity to thrive in the workplace tomorrow. I am looking forward to working with the CGE board and new CEO, Ashley Speers.”

Over Peter’s six years as Clough’s CEO, he has championed and supported the implementation of a range of initiatives to achieve both a more diverse and inclusive workplace, and a more equitable engineering and construction industry. Some of these initiatives include flexible work practices, new and updated parental leave entitlements, learning and development programs, mentoring, and leadership training for women in the business making Clough a recipient of the Employer of Choice citation by Workplace for Gender Equity Agency since 2020.
