Dev Chandraratne has been recognised as the Emerging Leader in the Individual Contribution to a Sustainable Future category at the 2026 Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) Awards, presented at IS Connect 2026.

The award recognises individuals making an outstanding contribution to advancing sustainability across the infrastructure sector—and Dev is doing just that through both her professional work and her commitment to supporting others in the industry.

Recognising that early-career sustainability professionals often miss opportunities to connect with peers and industry leaders, Dev took action. In 2023, she founded the Emerging Sustainable Infrastructure Professionals (ESIP) network, creating a space for emerging leaders to learn, collaborate and build confidence in the infrastructure sector.

What began as a grassroots initiative has since grown into a volunteer-led network spanning Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia, now supporting more than 150 members.

Dev’s passion for sustainability is also reflected in her project work, where she is helping deliver long-lasting infrastructure for the community.

“My favourite part working in construction is definitely being able to create something for the community, especially something that has such a lasting legacy like the North East Link project. I feel really proud to come to work every day and create something that is a resilient, sustainable asset that can be enjoyed for future generations to come,” said Dev.

Her vision, initiative and dedication to empowering the next generation of sustainability professionals is helping strengthen the industry for the future.

Congratulations, Dev, on this well-deserved recognition and the positive impact you continue to make.
