Global infrastructure group joins Calcio Italiano as Major Event Partner, reinforcing its 100-year commitment to WA communities and infrastructure. 

Global infrastructure group Webuild is one of the Major Event Partner of Calcio Italiano, the football series bringing four of the world's most famous clubs, AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Palermo to Perth this August. 

Matches will be played at Optus Stadium and HBF Park between 5 and 11 August 2026, headlined by two of world football's fiercest rivalries: the Derby della Madonnina and the Derby d'Italia. 

For Webuild, the partnership is an extension of a commitment to Western Australia that spans more than a century. Through Clough, engineering and construction company founded in Perth in 1919 and now part of the Webuild Group, the business has helped shape the state's landscape, from the Narrows Bridge, the Graham Farmer Freeway tunnels and energy projects such as Gorgon and Wheatstone to today's Airport Line and the construction of the New Women and Babies hospital.

Western Australia recorded the highest population growth of any Australian state in the year to December 2025, driving demand for the transport, water and community infrastructure that supports a growing Perth. Webuild's investment in major events such as Calcio Italiano complements this work by helping attract global attention, visitors and investment to the state.

  • Webuild completed the Perth Airport Line - 8.5 km line (8 km underground), opened October 2022, cutting airport–city travel from ~45 to ~20 minutes; a flagship of the METRONET program.

  • In 2025, Webuild was awarded the New Women's and Newborn Hospital Project (NWNBHP), commissioned by the WA Government, will expand women's and children's healthcare by transforming capacity at the Fiona Stanley and Osborne Park hospital campuses.

  • In 2026, Webuild was awarded the Design and Construction contract for Kwinana Gas Power Generation Project (K2) - construction of a new 220 MW gas fired power station to be built in Kwinana, south of Perth

  • Webuild is also delivering: Woodman Point Water Resource Recovery Facility - upgrade of WA's largest wastewater treatment plant, turning waste into biosolids and biogas

  • Historic WA works include the Narrows Bridge, Stirling Bridge (Fremantle) and Graham Farmer Freeway tunnels.
