Purpose of the Role The Lean Construction Engineer is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between design, planning and execution, providing support and guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion. The successful candidate will coordinate meetings between different parties involved in the site activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders and prepare reports to verify the progress of works. The Construction Lead Engineer will facilitate weekly meetings to report progress of work and coordinate the detail planning of the forecasted activities. |
Required Competencies - Ability to read, interpret, and identify discrepancies in complex construction drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and technical documentation
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Understanding of quality plans and Inspection Test Plans for electromechanical works, HVAC and MEP Engineering.
- Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing projects to completion on time
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6)
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, multi-trade coordination, materials, and project management principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Collaborate effectively within team settings, fostering a cooperative and supportive work environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain clear dialogue between project managers, site staff, and employer
- Ability to monitor progress of work and proactively review the installation schedule
- Document and report weekly progress to managers and stakeholders

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities - Ensure proper sequencing of works and manage meetings with subcontractors and trades to prevent clashes, delays, and maintain a seamless workflow.
- Review construction methods, technical drawings, and mechanical system specifications to ensure constructability, compliance with standards, and alignment with client requirements.
- Facilitate daily briefings, and regular subcontractor sessions to align site activities and resolve operational concerns.
- Lead project planning and execution, including developing plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocationSupervise and train project team members as necessary.
- Oversee and monitor on-site progress, conduct inspections, and assess risks
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, inspections, and compliance documentation for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and client to ensure project alignment
- Contribute to regular project meetings, communications and reports to the site and project managers and/or principal, which provide accurate and timely information to support their understanding of strategic risks, issues, opportunities, impacts and progress.
- Track construction progress against the program, support planning teams in updating schedules and forecasting completion dates, and flag risks or delays.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, consultants, and suppliers to support strategic decision-making and smooth project delivery.
- Resolve technical, logistical, and trade-related issues promptly to maintain productivity and implement improvements as needed.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment and readiness of work fronts.
- Assist with contract management, including reviewing payment certificates and change orders
- Prepare and submit project documentation, reports, and forecasts
