Diversity & Inclusion

EVERYONE BELONGS

We are an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation holder, endorsed by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, and we want to ensure that the engineering and construction industry is one where each and every person feels valued. At Clough we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that accepts and recognises every person, embraces their strengths and differences, and provides opportunities for all people to achieve their highest potential.

Diversity brings broader knowledge, perspectives, ideas, and experiences to our projects, and that is invaluable to our community, our business, and our clients.

WE'RE BUILDING A DIVERSE WORKFORCE

We strive to ensure our workforce reflects the communities in which we work and live, and have built a team of extraordinary talents from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and skills. This diversity is what makes Clough a great place to work.

Our commitments run in parallel with our actions. We are ever-evolving, continually developing new and better ways forward for our people and our business. We are proud of the recognitions we have been awarded and commit fully to upholding and growing on our commitments every single day.

We aim to attract, train and retain people who:

  • live Clough’s principles as their own,
  • are highly capable, and
  • have a desire to actively contribute to the success of the business.

WE'RE COMMITTED TO ACHIEVING EQUALITY

In 2022, Clough was granted its second Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). Clough was one of few organisations in our industry to receive this recognition, and it is one that we are incredibly proud to hold.

Clough received its first WGEA EOCGE citation for the 2019-20 period.

Clough is a proud partner of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTIQ+ workplace inclusion.

We are an active member of CEOs for Gender Equity and an approved WORK180 Endorsed Employer for All Women. Clough was recognised for a number of initiatives we offer, including flexible working, 16 weeks paid parental leave to primary carers, access to a variety of learning and development programs, amongst others.

OUR RECONCILIATION JOURNEY

Clough’s second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in April 2022.

Since the beginning of our reconciliation journey, Clough has embedded more than 60 actions and initiatives to achieve its vision for reconciliation, which is to “improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples by providing employment, education, and business opportunities and to create a workplace that understands and values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.”

Some of our commitments include: investing in opportunities to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture, creating meaningful employment and education opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, growing representation in our supply chain, ensuring policies and processes are free of bias, and striving to be a positive influence in the engineering and construction industry.

The RAP outlines and supports Clough’s vision and contribution to reconciliation both internally in the business, and in the communities in which it operates.
