Clough is pleased to announce that their asset services business, e2o Asset Services, (through Clough Niugini) has been awarded the Electrical & Instrumentation shutdown scope at Newcrest’s Lihir Gold project on Lihir Island, 900 kms from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The award expands on the scope secured in November 2021 and the asset services team will work with Newcrest to prepare, plan, schedule, execute, close out and improve the delivery for Electrical and Instrumentation services throughout the entire site for major planned shutdowns.

The shutdown execution works include (but are not limited to) planned maintenance work, corrective work and project improvement works.

The site’s planned shutdowns are completed every March and September. Work will commence immediately with the next shutdown planned for September 2022.

Approximately 4,500 people are employed at Lihir which has a combination of residential and fly-in-fly-out personnel, around 90 per cent of employees are Papua New Guineans.
