It's World Engineering Day! On this day we celebrate the exciting world of engineering, and engineers, who continue to deliver innovative solutions for a more sustainable future for all.

Engineering has been the cornerstone of our business since our inception and we are committed to building on our legacy and supporting the ongoing development of our current and future engineers.

Last year we signed a 3-year Partnership Agreement with @Engineers Australia for their Engineering Workforce Credentialing Program, supporting Clough’s engineers to become Chartered.

Meet Ashley Kelly, one of our talented engineers who has recently gained Chartered Status through our Engineer Australia partnership.

“I started my career with Clough as an intern-turned graduate civil/structural engineer, and now I’m an Area Manager, currently working on site on Manus Island, PNG, for the Lombrum Infrastructure Project.

"I’ve recently completed my Engineering Chartership through the Clough-Engineers Australia partnership and am looking forward to my next chapter with Clough.

"Clough and Engineers Australia streamlined my Chartership process by focusing on concise, practical examples of competence. They provided numerous resources to support the process, and access to an assessor who provided feedback in advance of the Chartered interview, and suggested areas for ongoing development post-interview which I can put into action on our upcoming projects.

"I am excited by the diverse range and scale of the projects Clough undertakes, and the exciting challenges that come with working on pioneering projects. Engineering and construction is an exciting, fast-paced industry where no two days are the same.

"I am also excited by the strong calibre of people within the company, and the strength of the leadership team who really make an effort to mentor and inspire people from the top down.

"I'm inspired by the positive work Clough does in the communities in which it operates. I'm passionate about being able to be a part of the project team based in PNG and build on the great initiatives Clough has been involved in to date, such as involvement with the local primary school to inspire young up and coming engineers, and constructing new footpaths to improve safety within the community.

"I get to use my skill sets to create solutions for a better world - it's very rewarding to see projects you've worked on come to life, and to make a positive impact to society.”
