Construction Manager - Electrical

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager - Electrical to lead the planning and delivery of major Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) projects while supporting business growth through tendering and client engagement activities.

This is a true bid-win-deliver role. You will oversee projects from early contractor involvement and bid development through to execution and handover, ensuring strong commercial performance, effective stakeholder management and safe, high-quality delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Working closely with clients, project teams and operational leaders, you will play a key role in developing winning tender strategies, securing new work and driving successful project delivery outcomes across the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as an operational lead and subject matter expert throughout the bidding process, including leading tender submissions where required.
  • Develop bid strategies, construction methodologies and delivery solutions that contribute to successful project wins.
  • Lead the execution of electrical and instrumentation construction works following project award.
  • Manage Superintendents, Supervisors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE, quality and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, project controls and support functions to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor project performance, identifying and mitigating commercial, operational and delivery risks.
  • Manage scope changes, variations and contractual obligations to maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key interface throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee workforce, equipment and material planning to support efficient project delivery.
  • Provide accurate reporting and project insights to senior leadership.
  • Support tendering activities through constructability reviews, estimate validation and delivery planning.
  • Foster a high-performing culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
 
About you:

You are a commercially minded construction leader with the ability to successfully transition projects from bid through to delivery. You bring a blend of technical expertise, operational leadership and stakeholder management capability, together with a proven ability to develop client relationships and contribute to project growth opportunities.

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Senior Electrical Superintendent or similar leadership role.
  • Tendering and bid development experience, with the ability to contribute to or lead project pursuits.
  • Strong experience across electrical and instrumentation projects within the energy, infrastructure, resources or industrial sectors.
  • A track record of delivering projects while managing commercial, contractual and operational outcomes.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability, including direct client interaction.
  • The ability to balance safety, schedule, cost and quality outcomes across multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Trade or diploma qualification in an electrical discipline (mandatory)
  • Engineering degree (desirable)
  • Valid Construction White/Blue Card and Australian driver’s licence
  • 10+ years’ construction experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of Australian safety standards and site-based execution
