The new Women and Babies Hospital is progressing well, with the first development approval lodged recently. This is an important step toward commencing construction onsite, including ground piling, the installation of vertical cores and pouring of slabs.
Webuild is the Managing Contractor for the new Women and Babies Hospital and Osborne Park Hospital expansion, part of the Government of Western Australia’s New Women and Babies Hospital Project.
The new Women and Babies Hospital will include inpatient facilities for gynaecology and maternity patients, a neonatology unit for newborns needing specialised care, operating theatres, a family birth centre and outpatient clinics.
The Osborne Park Hospital expansion will include expanded services for maternity, gynaecology and neonatology, a mother baby unit to support the mental health of expectant and new mothers, a family birth centre, obstetrics theatres, upgraded support services including pharmacy, pathology, sterilisation, kitchen and catering services, and outpatient clinics.
The $1.8 billion project is due for completion in 2029.
