Meet Jack Fletcher, Aboriginal Participation Manager for Webuild!

Jack began his career with Webuild back in February this year, when the exciting opportunity arose for him to join Parklife Metro who are completing the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) works for Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport.

With a strong background in Indigenous Employment and Mentoring, Jack is making meaningful engagement with the local community to support the project’s Aboriginal participation commitments and goals.

“I’ve always worked in the Aboriginal employment, recruitment and mentoring space, but first joined the construction industry back in 2018. I got into the industry by chance; I really enjoyed it and the different opportunities it presents so continued on this path.

"When the Aboriginal Participation Manager role came up for the SSTOM project, I knew that it was going to be a really big role that could make a really big positive impact for Aboriginal Participation. I knew that it would be a great challenge for me, so I jumped at it.

"I’m a Wonnarua man from the New South Wales, Hunter Valley region with strong ties to Darkinjung Country where I was born and raised in Umina on the NSW Central Coast.

"I’m really passionate about the Aboriginal Business sector, and one of my goals both here on the project and personally, is to increase opportunities for Aboriginal businesses within the organisation and within the community.

"In my role, I manage all the contractual requirements in Aboriginal Participation for the SSTOM Project.

"The Project is in its early stages, but I am actively working to build strong relationships with Aboriginal community organisations, industry stakeholders and suppliers. We have a lot of goals to kick and a large commitment for Aboriginal Participation on the project. We have a lot of work to do, but I am confident with the engagement of the team, we can make it happen.

"What excites me most about this project and my future with Webuild is that we have an opportunity to create some really good outcomes and build on what the wider business is already doing in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander space. I can’t want to see all the progress we make together.”
