Raising the roof at Project Ceres - Perdaman’s Project Ceres has achieved a major construction milestone with the successful air raise of the Ammonia Storage Tank roof! This was a complex and carefully executed operation completed with our contractor, CB&I.

The Ammonia Storage Tank roof is a self-supporting, low-temperature carbon steel roof, measuring 38 metres in diameter and weighing approximately 120 metric tonnes!

Using controlled air pressure, the tank roof was lifted into its final position, a method that prioritises safety and efficiency. The roof is raised with high volume fans and proprietary seal and cable leveling systems. The fans generate high volume air flow with controls to maintain steady pressure which lifts the roof to the desired height.

The result? A flawless lift, captured in a stunning time lapse, which you can watch here. A huge congratulations to the entire team on this milestone.
