Big lifts underway at SSTOM’s Orchard Hills - twelve 40-tonne beams have been successfully lifted into place at Orchard Hills Station, a key milestone in the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport SSTOM project.
Spanning 18.5 metres, each beam was manufactured in Newcastle and transported to site before being installed using a 500-tonne crane, assisted by a 120-tonne support crane.
It’s an incredible example of logistics, planning and precision engineering coming together to help build one of Australia’s most significant transport projects.
