Materials Controller

Clough, as part of a joint venture, is delivering Perdaman Industries’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes.  The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities. 

We are currently searching for a Materials Controller to join the Project Ceres team in Karratha. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the materials control process and act as the focal point for all materials, stores and site logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in major construction projects and large package materials in/materials out, as well as a good understanding of project teams and systems.

This is a site-based position, either FIFO from Perth, residential for individuals living in Karratha or the surrounding region.

Who you are 

  

Your focus will include: 

  • Supporting the project team to ensure materials availability in line with Construction schedule and constructability requirements.

  • Establishing project set up in Materials and Stores system for virtual warehouse locations, naming convention, material and store transactions to ensure accurate data records are maintained for trackability and reporting.

  • Planning and forecasting material requirements to ensure effective allocation and reporting to site teams for the delays and upcoming materials.

  • Managing the materials control function for all materials and equipment received, handled and issued through the project lay down yard and sites.

  • Inspecting and verifying materials, equipment, documentation to ensure that it complies with the project technical and commercial requirements.

  • Issuing materials and equipment to site and returns to lay down yard to ensure accuracy of system and reporting information.

  • Be the site point of contact to assist Logistics Manager, Procurement Manager, and Expediting Coordinator to ensure ongoing project reporting.


What you will bring to the team: 

  • Strong knowledge and experience of engineering materials and the management.

  • Minimum of 5 years project-based materials control experience essential.

  • Extensive experience with Materials and Stores Management systems would be highly regarded.

  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • An innovative thinker who can work as part of a supply chain team delivering project.

  • Tertiary studies in supply chain or related areas would be highly regarded.
