Scaffolding Supervisor

Deliver a sustainable future with WA’s landmark urea project!  

This role is on a 19:9 rotation to our Perdaman project in Karratha, WA.

 

Clough, as part of a Joint Venture with Saipem, is delivering the Project ‘CERES’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes. The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities.


We are currently searching for Scaffolding Supervisor to join our site-based team on Project Ceres. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and inspecting all scaffolding activities associated with the project. The role ensures that scaffolding systems are erected, modified, maintained, and dismantled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, engineering requirements, statutory regulations, and company HSE standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout all scaffolding activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all scaffolds are inspected and tagged prior to use.
  • Review construction schedules and identify scaffolding requirements.
  • Coordinate scaffold erection and dismantling activities with construction, maintenance, and commissioning teams.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and material resources to meet project requirements.
  • Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and client representatives regarding scaffold requirements.

Key Requirements

 

  • Minimum 5–10 years of scaffolding experience in industrial construction projects.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role on EPC projects.
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, mining, or heavy industrial projects preferred.
  • Proven experience managing large scaffold workforces in multi-discipline construction environments.  
  • Thorough knowledge of scaffold design principles and load requirements.
  • Familiarity with international scaffold standards (e.g., OSHA, BS EN 12811, TG20, AS/NZS standards, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and work-at-height requirements.
  • Ability to read scaffold drawings and construction plans.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification processes.
