Clough is pleased to announce the completion of the Non-Process Infrastructure for BHP’s US $3.6 billion South Flank project.

Clough was awarded the contract in June 2018 for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the non-process infrastructure (NPI) facilities to support the mining activities at South Flank and the ore handling plant at Mining Area C in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The project team delivered the Mobile Equipment Maintenance workshop / warehouse, fuel farm and offices at primary crusher 1 and 2, shutdown facilities offices and crib rooms, and all of the associated utilities. They also completed the Deposit A turkeys nest shutdown works.

Clough CEO and Managing Director, Peter Bennett said: “I am incredibly proud of the world class facilities and the strong relationship we have built at the South Flank Project with BHP.”

Clough Executive Vice President – APAC, John Galvin, added: “This project team overcame many challenges, withstanding all that the global pandemic brought with it to deliver a premium facility with no lost time injuries, with a focus on employing locals and engaging local contractors; an incredible effort by all involved.”
