Meet Bahar Fayaz, a Structural Engineer with the Webuild Group and a participant in this year’s Women in Infrastructure Mentoring Program through Infrastructure Partnerships Australia!

Bahar joined the business in 2022, bringing with her more than more than a decade of experience in structural engineering across large-scale civil, residential, commercial, industrial, and oil and gas projects.

“I started my career in Civil Engineering 15 years ago because I’ve always been fascinated by how buildings and infrastructure are created. My education in structural analysis and the variety of projects I’ve worked on keep me engaged and motivated.”

As a Structural Engineer, Bahar plays a key role in designing and coordinating safe, efficient structures from early design stages through to construction.

“Since joining the team, I’ve had the opportunity to work on major projects and continue to grow professionally within a supportive and collaborative environment.

“What I like most about working at Webuild is the team culture. We have many interesting projects under way, and there’s a strong focus on innovation and growth, which makes it a great place to work.”

Bahar is passionate about sustainability, diversity, and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

“I believe in creating a fair and inclusive workplace, and I enjoy helping young engineers develop their skills.”

“There are so many opportunities for continued development and the chance to contribute to lots of complex and impactful projects.

“What excites me most about my future with Webuild is being part of even more challenging projects as I continue to grow my skills. To be part of a company that values its people is truly inspiring.”

Outside of work, Bahar enjoys exercising, reading, watching movies, listening to music, and painting, activities that help her relax and stay creative.

“To those thinking about joining the business, I would say Webuild is a great place to build your career, learn from others, and work on projects that make a real impact in the world.

“I’m proud to be part of a team that delivers important infrastructure and supports people to do their best.”
