SSTOM Airport Business Park Station update - At Airport Business Park Station, the project team has successfully installed all 10 girders for the new pedestrian footbridge. This marks a significant step in delivering vital infrastructure for Western Sydney.
Eight girders, each 30 metres long and weighing up to 57 tonnes, were installed across Bridge 1. Two 33-metre girders weighing 59.5 tonnes each were lifted onto Bridge 2. The complex operation involved dual lifts between a tower crane and a 400T mobile crane, supported by detailed planning and collaboration across the team.
With the girders now in place, the next stage will be the construction of the cross-girders, deck and planter boxes that will shape the completed bridge.
